Connect Kit (ConvertKit)

Connect your Kit account to BestSubscribers to see which content drives subscribers and sales.

Connect your account

Go to Settings → Integrations in BestSubscribers and choose Kit. You have two options:

Option 1: OAuth (recommended)

Click Connect Kit, authorize in the popup, and you're done.

Option 2: API key

  1. In Kit, go to Settings → Developer.
  2. Create a new V4 API key.
  3. Copy the key and paste it into BestSubscribers.
Use a V4 key, not V3
Kit has two API versions. BestSubscribers requires a V4 key. V3 keys will not work.

Enable Kit email settings

For BestSubscribers to accurately attribute subscribers, you need to enable three settings in Kit. Go to Settings → Email in your Kit account and turn on:

  1. Add subscriber_id parameter in email links
  2. Automatically append UTM parameters to email links
  3. Automatically append hashed subscriber email to email links
Don't skip this step
Without these settings, BestSubscribers cannot match clicks in your emails back to specific subscribers. Attribution quality will be significantly lower.

Import existing subscribers (optional)

BestSubscribers starts tracking new subscribers from the moment you connect. If you want attribution data for subscribers who signed up before connecting, export a CSV from Kit and upload it in Settings → Import. This is the only way to backfill historical subscriber data.

Do I need Stripe or Teachable?

No. Kit works as a standalone integration. Without a payment provider connected, you'll see subscribers and their content sources but no revenue data. If you connect Stripe or Teachable later, BestSubscribers will also show you which content drives sales.
